All Feet Meet 2010, the annual meet of Infosys HRs belonging to HRD Employee Relations team, Diversity Team, and Internal Communications was held on 25th Sep'2010 at Mysore.
And guess who was declared as the "Most Promising Newcomer"? Me!!!!!!!! So, right now I am on Cloud 9, literally! After topping in my MBA, this is the best moment of my life so far. Being nominated by my manager is really a dream come true. All my life, I have firmly believed in this line, "Hardwork always pays!" And thats exactly what I said, when asked to describe myself in one word. I said, that I am hard working and an extremely committed person.
For this meet, I reached Blore on 23rd September itself at around 5 PM. The mind numbing traffic at Blore ruined my shopping plans, still then, we fought against time, and started for the city as soon as I reached the Infy campus. Me and two of my colleagues from HYD and Trivendrum went shopping to Forum, Kormangla. Had a blissfull time, shopping like crazy! Had a sumptuous dinner of sea food (Tiger Prawn cutlet, crab soup, etc), followed by an awesome movie, "Resident Evil", which just blew us away. Mind boggling special effects, definitely a notch above "Transformers".
The next day, on 24th, went to office to finish up some pending work, then we all started for Mysore in a nice Volvo Bus, "Bombay to Goa" style, with full naach gaana! Reached Mysore at around 7 PM. Went for team dinner, which is always elaborate (Lavish spread) on such occassions. After the heavy dinner, we were in for a great shock! Some physical activity was in store for us! All 75 of us, were divided into 5 teams, for a team building activity (Treasure Hunt), starting at 9:30 PM, in the lush green 350 acres of Mysore Infy, the Mecca of all the training centres in the world! Cant get any more romantic than this! Believe Me!
I was named the captain of my team, and guess who won the event? MY TEAM!!! :) My entire team ran like crazy rabbits, from one landmark to another, Squash court, Basket ball court, Cricket Pavillion, swimming pool, 3-4 rounds of the entire campus in just 60 minutes and finally succeeded in locating all 6 clues plus the treasure box (A box full of golden coins in form of chocolates). After this calorie burning exercise, the sleep that we got at night, was as cozy as a lil newborn baby!
The program started early the next morning. Breakfast at 8:30 AM, followed by sessions, ppts etc. Group photo, lunch, more ppts, then award session in which I received an award too! :)
